Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Newton-in-the-Isle Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard , due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Some images may not have suitable alternative text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content). We plan to add alt text to all images by 10 August 2025.
- Some documents published before September 2018 are not accessible. This fails multiple WCAG 2.1 success criteria. We will ensure new documents meet accessibility standards.
Disproportionate burden
- Some historical documents and meeting minutes published before September 2018 are in PDF or scanned image format and may not be accessible. We believe fixing these would be a disproportionate burden but will provide accessible formats on request.
